Art Project: Blowing, bubbling and adding salt with water paint
With some really simple additions you can add a little magic to your watercolour paintings.
Try sprinkling salt over a wet painting – it will create a glittery shiny effect when dry!
For a short and fun activity, place a small pot of water filled with a drop of Fairy liquid and some colourful paint or ink, on top of a piece of paper (itself on a waterproof tablecloth!) With a straw, start to blow into the cup to create colourful bubbles. (Be careful to blow out so as not to drink the liquid!) As the bubbles fall out of the cup onto the paper they create beautiful paintings.
With a straw, you can also pour a very tiny amount of ink or watery paint onto a piece of paper and then blow at it to create funny shapes and designs. (Once dry, you can add details with markers and turn them into monsters!)
