A foodie month: Beeswax Wraps and PlayIn Choc
We have sent out our happy winner’s goody bags for this months’ Instagram competition, and are grateful to the two wonderful companies we teamed up with: Beeswax Wraps and Playin Choc:
Beeswax Wraps
We’ve teamed up with eco-friendly Beeswax Wraps, a company that became plastic-free in 2017. When you use Beeswax Wraps:
• You can get 3-4 more days out of a loaf of bread
• Greens and herbs stay nice and crunchy for at least a week
• Sandwiches are no longer sweaty when you unwrap them, come lunchtime!
In effect, Beeswax Wraps has created the plastic-free lunch box – nice to think that future generations will no longer need plastic boxes, which can take up to 1,000 years to decompose!
Beeswax Wraps feel so strongly about plastic packaging that they have created a plastic-free map – a map which shows you all the plastic-free shops in the UK.
PlayIn Choc
With a background in design and teaching, and after a degree at Central St Martins, Maya, the creative force behind PlayIn Choc, gave herself the challenge of designing a fun, eco-conscious toy.
Watching her children grow, she became more and more aware of the future consequences of all our discarded plastic. This motivated her to design a series of educational, self-assembled toys made entirely from 100% recycled, biodegradable card – including the packaging. In this way she hoped to excite children about the planet through play!
