Creativity for Little Ones
The Art Cards include 18 simple, open-ended process art projects for Little Ones. Each project card also contains educational information on a related artist, a list of relevant books, and a reference term to search if you would like more information.
Each art project includes 5 simple steps. These are designed to be open-ended, allowing your child space to experiment and enjoy the process in their own way and at their own speed.
There are also cards with helpful tips on how to get started, as well as information on how to set up an art space at home.
What age are the projects suitable for?
The term ‘Little Ones’ allows for a range of interests and abilities.
However for a general outline, we recommend these projects for children between the ages of 3-6.
These Art Cards are also flexible enough for siblings of different ages to enjoy together.
Tips for doing art with Little Ones
• Strip children down before you start, or have an outfit that is their ‘art outfit’.
• Allow them to experiment with materials.
• Bring out one material at a time.
• You can often use surprisingly simple materials to work with.
• Never leave Little Ones alone with art materials!
What art materials will I need at home?
The cards include suggestions on how to set up your art space at home, what materials are good to have in reach of younger children, and which ones are good to keep in a cupboard!
Each project includes a suggested list of materials – these range from water-colours to chalks, from markers to pencils. The projects are also open-ended and you can swap in different materials depending on what you have at home.
The Art Cards are a gift, can I add a personalised card?
Yes! At checkout in the ‘Order notes’ section, please do let us know who the Art Cards are for, and any personal note you would like us to write for you.
When will my Art Cards be delivered?
Typically you will receive your Art Cards 3-4 days after ordering. Your order is processed in 48 hrs and posted according to the option you chose at checkout, sent either 24hr or 48hr tracked. You will receive an email with a tracking number, and can keep updated through the Royal Mail website.
